ABOUT
Marco Garcia – Photographer & Writer
Based in Honolulu since 2003, Marco Garcia has built a reputation as a versatile photographer and storyteller. Once a Manhattan shooter in all black, he’s now at home in vintage aloha shirts and rubber slippahs—though his island style has only sharpened his eye.
His photography has been featured in The New York Times travel section, Hawaiian Airlines campaigns, and lifestyle imagery for global brands like the Trump Hotel collection, Sony Corporation, Lotte, and Shriners Hospital. He also created large-scale store displays for Uniqlo in Honolulu. He has documented everything from Barack Obama’s visits to Hawaii and the Leilani Estates eruption, to the Lahaina wildfires, taro farming, and the lives of special-needs adults.
Beyond the lens, Marco has established himself as a writer. His words and images have appeared in national and regional publications, blending travel, culture, and human stories with the same lyricism that defines his photography.
